Moving in and backups
Bring songs, backgrounds and media from EasyWorship, import Bibles and songs, and keep a backup of everything.
Moving from EasyWorship
VerseLuma reads your EasyWorship profile without changing it, so you can keep using EasyWorship while you switch.
- Close EasyWorship so its databases are not locked.
- In the Songs tab, click EasyWorship migration…
- VerseLuma looks for EasyWorship profiles on this computer. If yours is elsewhere (for example copied from the old media PC), click Choose folder…
- Pick the Profile and what to bring across:
- Songs and lyrics
- Pictures and videos as backgrounds
- Add media files to this service
- Click Import selected content. A report shows what was imported and anything that could not be.
EasyWorship Bible files (.ewb) your church is licensed to use can be imported too — see Bible versions.
Other imports
| What | Where | Formats |
|---|---|---|
| Songs | Songs → Import songs… or Import a folder… | OpenLyrics XML, OpenLP database, plain text |
| Bibles | Version list → Manage versions… → Import a Bible… | EasyWorship, e-Sword, MySword, MyBible, Zefania, OSIS, USFM, text, CSV, JSON |
| Backgrounds | Design → + Add picture or video | Pictures and videos |
| Media | Service → + Media | Pictures, videos, PowerPoint, PDF |
Backup and restore
A backup saves your songs, services, announcements, imported Bibles, backgrounds, media and settings in one .verseluma file.
- Go to Design → Backup & restore.
- Tick Include pictures and videos for a complete copy (the file is larger).
- Click Save a backup… and save it to a USB drive or cloud folder.
To restore — after a computer failure, or to set up a second computer — click Restore… and choose the file. VerseLuma reloads with everything in place.
Moving to the Microsoft Store versionThe Store version keeps its data separately from a version downloaded from our website. Save a backup in the old version, then restore it in the Store version.
Good habitMake a backup once a month and before any big change, and keep it off the church computer.
Where your data lives
Everything is stored on this computer only, in VerseLuma's data folder. Nothing is uploaded. See our privacy policy.
