Stream Deck and Bitfocus Companion
VerseLuma accepts commands over your local network, so a Stream Deck (through Bitfocus Companion), a tablet or any controller that can send a web request can run the service.
- Turn on sharing in Phones & livestream and note the address and PIN.
- In Companion, add a Generic HTTP connection and, for each button, a POST action to the address shown under Stream Deck and other controllers (it ends in
/api/control). - Set the body to JSON, for example:
{"action": "lt-take", "pin": "1234"}
| Action | Does |
|---|---|
next / previous | Next or previous slide |
go-live | Send Preview live |
next-item / previous-item | Preview the next or previous service item |
black / clear / logo | Black, clear or logo screen |
lower-third | Livestream caption on or off |
lt-take | Take what is in the lower-third Preview |
lt-next | Take the next graphic in the rundown |
lt-clear | Hide the name or message graphic |
lt-take-caption / lt-clear-caption | Take or clear the Scripture/lyric caption |
lt-cue-1, lt-cue-2… | Cue rundown graphic 1, 2… to Preview |
The PIN stays the same between sessions. If you press New PIN, update it in Companion too.
MIDI controllers
Use a MIDI pad controller, a keyboard or a MIDI Stream Deck profile.
- Plug in the controller. Open Lower thirds and scroll to MIDI controller; it lists the connected devices.
- Click Learn beside an action (go live, next slide, black, Take…), then press the pad or key you want to use.
- Repeat for each action. Click × to forget one. Each button can only do one action.
Notes and controller buttons (CC) both work. VerseLuma reacts when a pad is pressed, not when it is released.
